Sunburns can be annoying and painful, and, in most cases, there is almost nothing that can be done to reverse the damage that has already been dealt. Preventative measures have to be taken before you expose your skin to sunlight for extended periods.

Black and green tea contains tannic acid which can absorb the heat from a sunburn, reducing the discomfort. Tea also contains catechins which can repair damaged skin. For sensitive areas, tea bags can be submerged in cool water before placing them on the effected area, such as the eyes.
5. Drink a lot of Water
Sunburn causes the skin to dry out which is why it is extremely important to counteract the effects by drinking a lot of water. Hydrating foods, especially fruits and vegetables such as watermelon, cucumber, and others which have a high-water content.
6. Use aloe Vera.
Aloe vera is one of the most popular remedies for sunburns and rightfully so. If you have an aloe vera plant in your home, you can just break off a leaf and apply the juice to the sunburnt area. Since it is organic, there is little chance of it causing any irritation. In addition, the juice can be chilled before application for a stronger cooling effect.
7. Do not peel the Skin
If your skin develops blisters after getting sunburnt, it is important that you treat them with care. If there is just minimal blistering, then it can be drained but the skin should never be peeled off. Peeling skin increases the chances of an infection and can also be more uncomfortable or painful.
